How do automatic job applications work?
Applying for jobs with AI is no longer a tool for a handful of insiders. But who finds the posting, who fills in the form, and who presses "send"? This guide walks through the process step by step, using Besim Apply as the example.
What is an automatic job application?
An automatic job application tool finds postings that match your CV, assesses how well each one fits you and fills in the application forms for you. The goal is to hand the most time-consuming but least valuable part of a job search, typing the same details into dozens of forms, to a machine. Preparing for interviews, talking to employers and making decisions stay with you.
Step by step: from posting to application
- CV and profile. You upload your CV; experience, education, skills, languages and work permit are added to your profile. Your answers to common form questions (expected salary, notice period and so on) are saved and reused.
- Search groups. You choose which roles you are looking for, in which cities or remotely. Each group builds its own stream of postings.
- Scoring. AI compares each posting with your profile and gives it a fit score from 0 to 100, with the reasons: which of your skills matched, where you fall short, whether the work permit or language requirements fit.
- Approval. You can approve postings one by one, or set an auto-approve threshold for a search group (for example, a score of 80 or more). Without a threshold, nothing is sent without your approval.
- Application. The desktop app on your computer opens the approved posting's application page in your own browser and fills in the form from your profile. The application is sent from your account and your internet connection.
- Tracking. Every application sent appears in your list together with the answers that were filled in. If you connect your inbox, employer replies and interview invitations are matched to the right application automatically.

What AI does, and what it doesn't
AI reads the posting, compares it with your profile, scores it and drafts answers to form questions from your profile. It does not invent experience on your behalf or claim skills you do not have; answers are always based on the information you provided. That is why an accurate, up-to-date profile matters.
AI output is not error-free. In the first weeks, we recommend reviewing the applications sent and the answers filled in, and correcting your saved answers where needed.
Security and privacy: what you should know
- Your password never reaches us. You sign in to job platforms in your own browser; your session stays on your computer.
- Your contact details are not sent to AI. Your name, email, phone number and profile link are replaced with placeholders before anything goes to the AI; the real values are inserted into the form afterwards.
- No datacenter IPs. Applications are made from your own computer, not from a third-party server.
- Platform rules. Some job platforms restrict automated tools in their terms of use; checking the rules of the platforms you use is your responsibility.

Who are automatic applications for?
They suit anyone actively looking for work who applies to many similar postings and is tired of filling in the same forms: recent graduates, career changers, people looking for work abroad and anyone searching in several cities. For applications to a single company that ask for a long cover letter or a portfolio review, applying by hand still works better. You can combine both: leave routine postings to Apply and spend your time on the few companies you really want.
Five tips for more interviews
- Name the skills and tools that appear in postings for your target roles clearly in your CV; scoring looks for them.
- Run the first week without a threshold; compare the scores with your own judgement, then set the threshold.
- Answer the common form questions carefully once; those answers are reused in every application.
- Keep search groups narrow: "backend developer, Berlin or remote" rather than "software".
- Connect your inbox so you never miss an application that gets a reply.
